Héctor Toledo inicia su entrenamiento de Wushu en el año 1993 en la Escuela de Kungfu Yingtao (Profesor Max Tambutti), lugar donde llega a faja negra y se desarrolla como competidor de Campeonatos en Santiago y diversas ciudades de Chile como Chillán, Rancagua, Temuco, Puerto Varas, Los Andes, La Serena, etc. Dicho período finaliza durante el año 2002, cuando, por asuntos de horarios, no logra compatibilizar sus estudios universitarios con el entrenamiento.
En el año 2008, se reintegra a la práctica de Wushu Moderno en la Escuela Shenhe (Profesores Andrea San Martín y Armando Machuca), donde retoma su enfoque deportivo, logrando incluso ser miembro de la Selección Chilena de Wushu.
En el año 2011 viaja a China a perfeccionarse en la Universidad del Deporte de Beijing, donde estuvo un semestre aprendiendo Wushu Moderno (Changquan, Gunshu, Jianshu y Daoshu), además de Taijiquan, Qigong y Tanglangquan.
Desde el año 2011, funda la Escuela de Wushu Wuhun con la idea de transmitir el Wushu de la forma más genuina posible en Chile. Su enfoque es principalmente deportivo y de mantención de la salud a través del hábito de la actividad física.
Para poder entregar la mejor enseñanza, Profesor Héctor Toledo rindió su examen Duan Wei en la Asociación China de Wushu (Beijing, 2011) donde obtuvo Tercer Duan. Además, realizó el curso de la IWUF de Entrenador de Wushu Moderno el año 2013, en Campinas, Brasil. Y el año 2016 tomó el curso de Wushu dictado por la misma Asociación China de Wushu en Lima, Perú.
