About the School
K-STAR Training Academy Founded by Philip Sahagun and Ulziibayar Chimed, two stars of the Cirque Du Soleil stage dedicated to sharing Authentic Martial Arts and Mongolian Contortion to the people of Las Vegas. We have a team of qualified coaches and passionate teachers, whose mission is to offer high-level courses in a stimulating environment for the entire family. Each of our programs allows for specialization, and is available to people of all ages and skill sets. So whether you are looking for a new life goal or want to build up a future champion, we are here to help you along the way.
Our prime objective is to provide students with a clean and wholesome athletic training program to study Authentic Martial Arts and Mongolian Contortion. Each of our staff are handpicked experts in their field whose focus is to fully support the physical progress and mental advancement of our students. Our programs aim to maximize the cultural and social benefits that come from empowering our students to discover their own human potential. Our coaching team has touched the lives of countless people from all levels of society, producing students who are Regional, National and International Champions on and off the training floor.

Philip Sahagun
Philip Sahagun is an accomplished Artist and Teacher of the martial arts. He is a founder of K-Star Training Academy and a former martial arts coach / choreographer for Cirque Du Soleil.
Philip Sahagun is an accomplished martial arts champion in both forms and fighting. The son of Joaquin Sahagun, a 6th Degree Kenpo Black Belt, Philip is a third generation American Martial Artist, who specializes in the arts of Kenpo Karate, Kickboxing, Wushu and Shaolin Temple Kung Fu. He is a 7-time National and 3-Time International Martial Arts Champion.
As a coach, Philip Sahagun has developed National and International level champions of his own, producing four medalist at the Third Traditional Wushu Festival in China, three Sanda National Champions, and five artists for the stages of Cirque Du Soleil. Today, Philip continues to lead international workshops and training camps while coaching a new generation of athletes at K-STAR Academy.
Ulziibayar Chimed
Ulziibayar Chimed was born in the city of Ulanbaatar, the Capital of Mongolia. From an early age she exhibited a passion for performing and began training in the art of Contortion at 5 years old. After two years of rigorous practice, Ulziibayar joined the Mongolian State Circus and began performing a solo act, traveling to countries such as France, Russia and Taiwan to display her unique skills.
In 1993, a nine year old Ulziibayar was scouted by Cirque Du Soleil founder Guy Laliberté to join the production Alegria which premiered in Montreal, Canada in April of 1994. In doing so, Ulziibayar became the first Mongolian Contortionist to perform with the company and proceeded to tour the world for the next twelve years. Since its creation, Alegria has been performed over 5,000 times and seen by over 14 million spectators.
Today, Ulziibayar Chimed is considered one of the top Contortionists in the world, appearing internationally on stage, print, television and film. Her practice, the Art of Contortion stands as a culmination of everything she loves instilling beauty, and strength through a holistic method of mind body enhancement. For Ulziibayar, contortion moves beyond the westernized viewpoint of physical practice, and actively inspires people in all areas of life "to bend their limits."
